MBMB Mayor Datuk Shadan Othman said various channels through the digitalisation and information gateway had also been developed by the local authority (PBT) to provide services and facilities to the public.
“Various components of smart cities such as Smart Living, Smart Government, Smart Mobility and Smart Economy have been and are being implemented.
“Among them are SmartMap MBMB, My FPX-MBMB Payment Gateway, Command Center MBMB, i-Trafik application, Environmental Sensor Station (ESS-15) and the Crowd Monitoring application in the Banda Hilir Vehicle Free Zone,” he told reporters in Banda Hilir here last night.
He was met after the opening of the MBMB ICT and Innovation Carnival 2024 by the State Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Zulkiflee Mohd Zin.
Shadan said MBMB hoped to win the Developing Smart City Award after being named the recipient of the Smart City Early Adopter Award through the Malaysia Smart City Rating programme recently.
It was one of the highest achievements by MBMB, he said, adding that the council will ensure that the criteria required in the programme are expanded by creating various initiatives that apply ICT and innovation in services provided in areas under the MBMB’s jurisdiction.
The rating of the programme which was introduced through PLANMalaysia is part of the implementation of the Malaysia Smart City Framework 2019-2025 to recognise the role of local authorities in implementing the Smart City initiative based on indicators in Malaysia Standard (MS) ISO 37122:2019.
