In conjunction with JSCF 2023, MSCA had an opportunity to participate in the Technical Visit to Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and NEWater, Singapore led by TPr. Saidin, Director of PLANMalaysia Johor. The technical visit to Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) aims to get better understanding on how the urban planning is done and executed at URA for Singapore. URA is the national urban planning authority of Singapore, and a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development of the Government of Singapore. URA’s multi-faceted role includes being the main government land sales agent. They also attract and channel private capital investments to develop sites that support planning, economic and social objectives including evaluate and grant planning approvals for developments through their Development Control, Urban Design and Conservation guidelines. Singapore’s infrastructure aims to become cleaner and greener to achieve net-zero emissions. The next technology visit headed to NEWater HQ in Singapore. Singapore is making strides towards water sustainability through The NEWater technology on wastewater treatment into ultra-clean, high-quality reclaimed water. NEWater boosts Singapore’s water security, adaptability to climate change, and the city’s ability.
