Collaborative Governance for ASEAN Course was co-organized by National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) and Planning, Research and Policy Division, Public Service Department on the 15th of October 2020 (Thursday). The course outline was developed by INTAN under ASEAN Resource Centre for Strategic Collaboration which focuses on experience sharing among ASEAN countries regarding collaborative governance in the public sector. The course was participated by selected Malaysian and ASEAN Countries Government Officers.
The objective of this course is to share Malaysian insights on collaborative governance thus exposing the importance of collaborative governance in order to improve the public sector’s service delivery.
Ministry of Housing and Local Government Malaysia (KPKT) was invited to share on collaborative governance within National Community Policy (DKomN). Dr. Siti Muhaza Sheikh Zainal, Undersecretary of Policy and Inspectorate Division presented during the session on behalf of KPKT.
DKomN was drafted from June to October 2018 and passed by the Cabinet in November 2018. The policy was launched on 17th February 2019 and the drafting process took into consideration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). National Community Policy aims to empower the community to be actively involved in the management and maintenance of public property. A cohesive and prosperous community creates a close network and promotes harmony and safe living. The end goal of this policy is to create a sustainable community and generation.
