The 105 cities on the 2019 CDP A List demonstrate leadership in transparency, adapting to and preparing for the worsening impacts of the climate crisis.
To score an A with CDP, a city must have disclosed its data publicly, produced a city-wide emissions inventory, set an emissions reduction target, published a climate action plan and completed a vulnerability assessment to understand its climate hazards and their impact.
Cities are scored A (Leadership), B (Management), C, (Awareness) and D (Disclosure) based on completeness and quality of their data, and the level of action taken. Cities are stepping up their transparency and leadership, with 68 cities new to the 2019 A List, either improving their score or disclosing for the first time.
City governments have a crucial role to play in tackling the climate crisis and leading the low-carbon transition. We’re proud to have been recognized by @CDP’s cities A List for our work building a climate-safe future.
