AMPANG JAYA, Feb 6 — The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CelcomDigi Berhad to implement the smart city project.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the decade-long collaboration will enable both parties to provide 5G technology services in all of Hulu Kelang’s areas.
“This collaboration will establish a smart city ecosystem which can enhance residents’ quality of life and promote business growth in the area.
“I hope such collaborations will continue in other cities in Selangor, per the Smart State 2025 aspiration,” he said at the MPAJ Convention Centre today.
Earlier, Amirudin witnessed the MoU signing ceremony the between CelcomDigi’s chief executive officer Datuk Idham Nawawi and MPAJ president Ani Ahmad.
On his part, Idham said the inaugural collaboration with the council is set to transform Hulu Kelang into an integrated digital district with a sustainable environment.
CelcomDigi will lead the sandbox, bringing together all relevant parties in smart city solutions including entrepreneurs, technology providers, and device manufacturers.
“We are committed to leveraging this partnership via local and global technology sharing, becoming a role model to benefit other partners,” he said.
